Job Summary:
The MSAP School Recruiter reports to the MSAP Project Director and the School Leadership and is responsible for creating and executing recruitment plans to attract prospective students to the district's "Accelerate Excellence" magnet schools. This role requires flexible work hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to local communities. The MSAP School Recruiter will manage recruitment activities, maintain school branding efforts, and collaborate with staff to develop communication materials. Additionally, this role will involve managing data, overseeing application processes, and supporting lottery selections.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment Planning and Execution
  • Create school-specific recruitment plans, including timelines, strategies, staffing responsibilities, and target outreach areas to increase interest and applicants to your school.
  • Review and modify recruitment strategies biannually and monitor weekly during the recruitment period inclusive of media advertisements and local signage.
  • Organize recruitment activities such as distributing materials to community organizations, feeder (local and suburban) school visits, and media outreach.
  • Track and document all recruitment activities and data collection, ensuring timely evaluation of incoming applications.
  • Collaborate with the Central Office Student Services in the lottery process, including testing, executing, and monitoring enrollment goals.
  • Monitor enrollment goals and provide school visits for parents and students.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies inclusive of email blasts to current students soliciting their participation in recruitment events.
  • Once planning is approved, provide professional development to school staff regarding recruitment and retention strategies for coherence and support.
  • Attend professional development relative to job responsibilities
Marketing and Branding in collaboration with school leadership and Central Office Communications Team
  • Develop/Update as appropriate magnet school-specific logos, branding, and promotional materials for distribution.
  • Oversee the revision and maintenance of school websites and social media feeds.
  • Annually design/review media plan to support recruitment efforts across platforms such as email, direct mail, traditional media, social media, television, radio, newspaper, and signage.
  • Execute consistent analysis, revision and updating of school websites and social media platforms to refresh school presence and content.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and adjust as appropriate.
Central Recruitment Center
  • Collaboratively establish/maintain a Central Recruitment Center in your school to provide resources like computers, parent assistance, and multilingual materials.
  • Work with the MSAP STEAM Supervisor to schedule support for the center to ensure effective operations.
  • Annually review and adjust recruitment center using varied data inputs to guide its continued effectiveness.
  • Train parent volunteers and students as appropriate to assist in the recruitment center.
Outreach and Event Management
  • Manage outreach initiatives, including open houses, school fairs, and community organization partnerships.
  • Promote schools at local events and fairs, engaging prospective students and families.
  • Organize and attend open houses, school fairs, and community events.
  • Provide recruitment training for staff, students, and volunteers. Leverage parents, students and community members as appropriate to provide relevant firsthand experiences at recruitment events.
Training and Support
  • Develop and conduct recruitment training for school staff, student ambassadors, and parent volunteers.
  • Identify and prepare students to serve as ambassadors at recruitment events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, education, or related field.
  • Experience in recruitment, marketing, or community outreach, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in managing websites, social media, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to recruitment locations.

Work Environment:
The MSAP School Recruiter primarily works within the school district and will be required to travel to destination towns and communities for recruitment purposes. Flexible work hours are necessary to accommodate school events, open houses, and recruitment activities outside of regular school hours, including evenings, weekends, and summer STEAM events. Additionally, the flexible schedule is based on recruitment plan needs and is approved in advance by the direct supervisor and school leadership.

Days: Monday- Friday (37.5 hours weekly)
Salary: Group 7- $84,000/annually
Bargaining Unit: NFEP
Work Year: (12 Months/52 weeks)
