Key Responsibilities:
- Must be able to handle workload for 3 attorneys on a heavy litigation desk.
- Must be able to manage attorney scheduling and calendars accurately and efficiently with electronic system (ProLaw)
- Must be able to prepare, format, & edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery and correspondence (including TOA/TOC)
- Must have thorough knowledge of rules and procedures for service of documents and filings with Federal Courts and California Superior Courts (manual and electronic filing)
- Ability to multi-task and complete assignments quickly and accurately to meet demanding deadlines
- Manage documents in firm document management system (Imanage)
- Ability to take initiative, be resourceful and anticipate needs of attorneys
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years current experience on a civil litigation desk
- Attention to detail is an absolute must
- Paralegal skills a plus
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills — you must be able to communicate and interact with clients, court staff, and other third parties on behalf of the firm in a professional and courteous manner
- Must be a team player and be able to work effectively and courteously with your co-workers, especially in times of stress
- Will provide assistance to others within the firm when requested based on priorities of current work-in-hand, promoting teamwork and mutual cooperation among all staff members
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Outlook and Adobe.
- Experience with document management system preferred. Imanage and Prolaw experience a plus.
