NORTH AMERICAN FINANCE LEAD - PAYMENTS - International Company in Duluth
My client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader to oversee the Payments and Receipts team in North America as their North American Finance Lead. This role is responsible for delivering efficient, high-quality transactional processing services, including managing payments, receipts, and cash flow while ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and automation to enhance business performance and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team responsible for processing supplier payments, customer receipts, and managing banking relationships.
- Develop strategies to enhance customer and supplier experience while aligning with broader business goals.
- Improve local processes by driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective operational planning and adherence to monthly schedules for payment processing.
- Manage cash flow and assist in forecasting cash availability.
- Resolve supplier and customer queries in a timely manner.
- Oversee compliance with relevant regulations, including payment processing and tax requirements.
- Lead M& A activities for the payments team and manage integration of processes, tools, and systems.
- Assist with audits, ensuring proper controls and documentation are in place.
- Drive a high-performance culture and manage a skilled team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Proven experience in Payments and Receipts (Procure to Pay and Order to Cash) within a technology or service-oriented environment.
- Strong leadership experience managing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of payment processing systems, banking requirements, and payment platforms (e.g., ACH, credit cards).
- Experience driving process automation and continuous improvement (Lean 6 Sigma, Design Thinking).
- Strong understanding of working capital and balance sheet management.
- Experience in managing M& A activities and implementing change management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Finance qualification and certifications in payments or fraud management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Compliance with KPIs.
- Accuracy and timeliness of month-end reporting.
- Transactional accuracy and query resolution.
- Effectiveness of change initiatives and process improvements.
