The Production Planner reviews orders and schedules production through proper understanding of resources, customer needs, and production timing. Interacts with all internal Departments and some external Customers. Key competencies: Analytical Skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Mathematical Skills including Conversions, Critical Thinking, and Computer Skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer orders and balance purchasing, production, quality, and warehousing constraints to develop production schedules for the assigned manufacturing department to ensure orders are shipped per customer committed ship dates via SAP/APO Planning software.
  • Ensure production runs in accordance with lead time and QC test times by analyzing customer orders and ensuring materials are on hand before releasing the process orders.
  • Develop and maintain a demand vs capacity analysis to ensure long term planning is executable.
  • Attend the various meetings with procurement and production to discuss current and upcoming shipments and schedules, raw material issues, customer complaints, off spec materials, etc.
  • Communicate with Customer Service and provide responses to expedite requests in a timely manner and provide changed shipped dates.
  • Review stocking levels for both customer agreements and internal stock positions and schedule production accordingly.
  • Work with Production Supervisors, QC, and Project Engineer for blend off rates of off-spec materials and blend back whenever possible.
  • Work with Tolling Specialist to schedule production that is to be manufactured at a subcontractor.
  • Monitor and maintain the production schedule as needed for accuracy and to determine and report schedule attainment.
  • Work closely with Operations and Inventory Control to resolve any scheduling problems and material movement issues when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, employees will engage in awareness and practical training, relevant to job-related and job-specific roles and responsibilities, in order to adhere to applicable environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of business experience in a planning capacity and manufacturing environment utilizing SAP planning software preferred.
