Production Planner - Exempt

We are always seeking to hire talented, hard-working, and committed individuals for roles in Operations (CNC Machining, Tool Making, and Fabrication/Assembly), Engineering, Quality and other Support Roles.

We are looking for a qualified Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.

Reports to: Director of Operations


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate production workflow for multiple products, machines, and vendors

Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

Issue requisitions to Supply Chain for raw material with regard to schedule and customer demands

Create and issue P/O's to outside services

Work with Master Scheduler to schedule shifts according to production needs

Enter new orders and update existing orders in MRP system

Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget

Support miscellaneous site purchasing

Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

Prepare and submit status and performance reports

Keep paperwork organized

Collaborate with quality control, shipping/receiving and other departments.

Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

Is not authorized to initiate, record, verify or implement corrective actions or solutions to problems relating to product, process or quality system, but may recommend.


Requirements:

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

Bachelor degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or Materials required

5+ years of experience in Production Planning.

Ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have a forward thinking mindset, and possess a strong interest in process improvement.

Experience in Materials Planning or Logistics is required.

Must have experience working with ERP software, experience in INFOR (Syteline) preferred.

Experience in MS Office is a must, preferably with Excel
