The production tech/assembler is responsible for kitting, assembling, and transforming product according to bill of materials, work instructions, and other customer documentation to ensure that final product meets all customer specifications.

Reports to: Production Manager / Assembly Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Review customer part file for latest version of bill of material, work instructions, engineering drawings, control plans, and/or other part specifications prior to commencing production.
  • Perform assembly steps using hand tools and power tools including, but not limited to, cutters, grinders, drill presses, power crimpers, heat guns, etc.
  • Pull correct products and quantities from bin location and accurately measure and cut raw materials
  • Work with adhesives, solvents and various other chemicals
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure subassemblies meet customer specifications and route finished goods to appropriate personnel for further handling or final inspection process
  • Apply correct product identification labels to parts, assemblies and final packaging

  • All other duties as assigned by Production Manager

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience using automatic wire processing equipment
  • Experience using test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience and familiarity with soldering, assembling and inspecting electronic assemblies up to IPC-A-610, IPC-620A and/or J-STD-001 standards
  • Some computer skills and/or experience with ERP software
  • Problem solving skills
  • Experience with quality system documentation
  • Willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes
  • Adhere to safety requirements for working in production & warehouse environments and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace
  • All other duties as assigned by Production Manager
