We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in the local government sector, based in Richmond, Virginia. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the front line in providing superior service to the residents and businesses of our community, addressing their queries and concerns, and assisting them in navigating the processes and procedures of local government.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver exceptional customer service through various communication channels such as phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Respond to inquiries, concerns, and requests about government services, programs, and policies.
• Guide constituents through government processes and procedures, ensuring a positive experience.
• Collaborate with different departments to secure accurate information and prompt responses to customer queries.
• Keep abreast with the latest local government services and initiatives.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Use basic computer applications and show an eagerness to learn new systems.
• Direct guests and manage data entry tasks.• Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within a local government setting
• Proficient in managing and resolving customer inquiries and complaints in a detail oriented manner
• Ability to direct guests to appropriate departments or individuals based on their needs
• Skilled in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
• Familiarity with local government operations and procedures is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle a high volume of customer interactions
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in related fields are a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.
