Job Description
Location: This position will be onsite at our corporate offices in Allen, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area). **This is not a remote position.

Opportunity:

We are searching for an accomplished and skilled Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in electronics assembly and testing to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing the assembly and test processes for our electronic products. This position requires a solid understanding of electronics manufacturing, process engineering, and quality control. An ideal candidate will possess a strong project management background, combined with experience in the manufacture of solar inverters and microinverters. The Senior Engineer will spearhead efforts to introduce advanced assembly and testing techniques to drive efficiency, cut costs, and elevate overall product quality. Automotive industry experience is a plus.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Establishment of New Processes:

  • Lead the design and implementation of innovative processes for electronics assembly and testing.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and methodologies.
  • Spearhead the design, development, and optimization of electronic assembly and testing processes.
Equipment Selection and Maintenance:
  • Evaluate, select, and implement state-of-the-art assembly and testing equipment to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Project Management:
  • Manage and coordinate projects focused on process improvements and new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly achievement of project milestones.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budget.
Process Optimization:
  • Lead initiatives to enhance and optimize electronics assembly and testing processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and increase overall productivity and quality.
  • Implement best practices and innovative technologies, emphasizing the adoption of Lean and Six Sigma practices.
1. Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and uphold stringent quality control standards for electronics assembly and testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any identified quality issues during the production process.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures to ensure products surpass customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for assembly and testing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Generate regular reports on process performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, including surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assembly.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, such as in-circuit testing, functional testing, and environmental testing.
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaboratively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong presentation skills for reporting on project progress and outcomes.
Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes and identify areas for improvement.
Training and Mentorship:
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics assembly and test process engineering.
  • Track record of successfully establishing new processes in electronics manufacturing.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Expertise in quality control methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with solar inverters and microinverters is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
