The Onsite Manufacturing Automation Engineer will design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes. May work with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain automated manufacturing systems to enhance production efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated systems and machinery.
- Develop and modify control systems, PLCs, and HMI software for equipment operation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation projects.
- Create and maintain documentation for automated systems, including schematics and operation manuals.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated processes and technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies in manufacturing automation.
Position Supervised or Directed:
Reports to Engineer Manager.
Qualifications, Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and experience with HMI software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and lean principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Able to travel to other divisions when required.
- Detailed and hands-on oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes and loud noises.
