Overview

We have an exciting and rewarding opening for an Executive Director - RN to join our team in Brewer, Maine! Join us and find new ways to use your gift for leading others while making a meaningful impact in the lives of those in the care of you and your team.

To qualify for this role, you must be a Registered Nurse (RN) and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in either hospice or home health.

Executive Director Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned hospice location.
  2. Coordinate the admission of patients to Hospice Services in a smooth, systematic process.
  3. Arrange for ancillary services to ensure they are complimentary.
  4. Direct, supervise and evaluate hospice personnel and volunteers.
  5. Coordinate services of all team members and maintain ongoing communication with leadership.
  6. Demonstrate a commitment to excellence through focusing on quality care and/or service.
  7. Incorporate continuous quality improvement principles in day-to-day activities.
  8. Promote and monitor compliance with requirements and standards established by accrediting or licensing agencies.
  9. Recommend and implement policies and procedures.
  10. Promote positive communications and keep employees informed of changes.
  11. Provide core orientation and in-service training for employees, volunteers, and contract personnel.
  12. Supervise and evaluate interdisciplinary team members.
  13. Manage teams to goals and standards for performance; review and monitor progress regularly.
  14. Ensure fair and consistent workload distribution.
  15. Plan and organize tasks and resources to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  16. Ensure documentation of services is accurate and timely.
  17. Monitor and supervise quality of patient care.
  18. Process emergency calls and requests for assistance.
  19. Work with physicians, patients, families, staff and others regarding problems, needs and concerns.
  20. Supervise and evaluate family satisfaction surveys.
  21. Manage financial resources prudently and effectively.
  22. Complete financial reviews in collaboration with the Administrator.
  23. Ensure annual expenditures are within the annual budget.

About You

Education:

  1. Registered Nurse with minimum of Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  3. Master’s degree in business, nursing or related field preferred.

Experience:

  1. Minimum one year management/supervisory experience required.
  2. Two or more years’ experience in hospice/home care required.
  3. Three years’ experience in direct patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
  4. Three to five years healthcare sales/management experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:

  1. Current license to practice nursing in the state of requested employment.
  2. CPR Certification.
  3. Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.
