Traveling RN Director of Nursing Opportunity!
Required experience:
- 5+ years within a Skilled Nursing Facility
- Prior Director of Nursing experience, Regional experience preferred
Schedule: This role would have a schedule of 10 days on, 4 days off. Traveling would be to different Brookdale CCRC communities (currently located in 12 different states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Texas).
This position would fill in for different clinical leadership roles within the CCRC communities and supervise licensed and non-licensed direct care associates. We are looking for an experienced clinical leader, focused on building strong teams with a positive culture, to provide the best support to those we serve.
Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident’s healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as residents’ healthcare needs change. Supervises licensed nurses and other direct care staff within the community. Responsible for overseeing and validating all resident care to ensure needs are met and that care is provided in accordance with physician orders, care plans, policies/procedures, and state and federal regulations. Travels within the division as assigned to support management vacancies, start-ups, vacations, etc.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff (LPN/LVN, RN), CNAs, and Med Techs/CMAs (if allowed/required by State Regulations).
- Assigns and directs work of subordinates, appraises performance, rewards and disciplines associates, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Provides training, supervision, and monitoring of associates in the administration of medications as described/allowed in Nurse Practice Act, including auditing of medication administration records.
- Provides training and education to resident care associates on an ongoing basis.
- Supervises the maintenance of resident charts and reviews documentation performed by caregiving staff.
- As described in the Nurse Practice Act, assesses the health, functional and psycho-social status of residents, initiates individualized service plans, proactively manages care and services for each resident.
- Manages the health care of residents, including the dissemination of information to families and associates.
- Participates in pre-admission screening of prospective new residents.
- Performs ongoing assessment/observation of residents' physical and psycho-social needs.
- Evaluates residents; documents changes in condition, and notifies executive director, physician, and resident’s legally responsible party/family of resident's condition.
- Facilitates continuity of care for residents receiving home health care, hospice services, and other third party healthcare-related services.
- Participates in or leads meetings relevant to resident care issues.
- Ensures in-house ancillary medical services are scheduled and followed through.
- Participates in department quality improvement activities.
- Assists in keeping the environment safe for associates.
- Shares on-call and manager-on-duty responsibilities/shifts as required.
Qualifications
Education as required to obtain state nursing license (RN). Five years of skilled nursing experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or District/Regional Nurse Consultant required. RN license.

Salary Range Information
$85,260.00 - $108,610.00 / year
