Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the housekeeping team, including room attendants, supervisors, and laundry staff, to ensure the cleanliness, comfort, and safety of guest accommodations and public areas.
Develop and implement housekeeping procedures, standards, and training programs to ensure consistent quality and efficiency in cleaning and maintenance operations.
Coordinate with other onboard departments, including guest services, food and beverage, and facilities management, to address guest requests, maintenance issues, and special cleaning requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of guest cabins, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure compliance with company standards, cleanliness protocols, and safety regulations.
Monitor housekeeping supplies and equipment inventory levels, and coordinate procurement and replenishment as needed to support daily operations.
Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, cleaning schedules, maintenance requests, and inventory usage, and prepare reports for management review and analysis.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally, and take appropriate action to address and resolve issues to guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
years of experience in housekeeping management, preferably in the hospitality or cruise industry, with a track record of success in leading and managing a diverse team of housekeeping staff.
Strong knowledge of housekeeping principles, practices, and techniques, including cleaning methods, sanitation standards, and laundry operations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications for data analysis, reporting, and communication.
Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 operation onboard a cruise ship.
