Description

The purpose of this internship position is to develop skills in researching evidence-based prevention strategies. The intern will attend community engagement events, help develop educational materials and assist in creating social media content for Nexus Care. Additionally, this position will collect, analyze and interpret data. Candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with coalition members, provide support through the maintenance of records, prepare reports and organize files.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
  • Assist with providing evidence-based substance use prevention education in schools, public outreach, and social media campaigns.
  • Be a part of tracking prevention efforts.
  • Works with staff on community outreach, informing people of services available
  • With assistance, completes data entry and reporting.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a college student
  • Must have reliable transportation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
