The Role: Lateral Associate - Real Estate | San Francisco, CA

We are seeking mid-level and senior Real Estate Associates to join a prominent and expanding team in San Francisco, CA. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on impactful real estate transactions, collaborate with accomplished professionals, and grow within a supportive, high-performing environment.

Practice Expertise and Focus

This team is known for handling some of the most sophisticated real estate transactions in the industry. Key areas of expertise include:

  • Mortgage/Mezzanine Debt: Representing both lenders and borrowers in complex financing structures.
  • Joint-Venture Equity Work: Advising on innovative equity partnerships for real estate investments.
  • Acquisitions and Dispositions: Guiding clients through major property transactions with precision and insight.
  • Development Projects: Overseeing legal aspects of real estate development, including land use, permitting, and contractual negotiations.
In this position, you will:
  • Represent clients in high-profile real estate matters, including mortgage and mezzanine debt transactions.
  • Provide counsel on joint-venture equity structures, acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated real estate agreements.
  • Work closely with a collaborative team to deliver creative solutions for complex real estate transactions.
  • Contribute to mentoring junior associates and cultivating a positive team culture.
Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:
Experience and Expertise
  • Experience Level: Mid-level or senior associate with proven experience in:
    • Mortgage/mezzanine debt transactions.
    • Joint-venture equity work.
    • Acquisitions and dispositions.
    • Development projects.
  • Non-Real Estate Backgrounds: Candidates with a strong transactional foundation and an interest in real estate will also be considered.
Educational Credentials
  • Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the California Bar.
