Senior Principal Water Market Leader, Mining
to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices. This individual can be based in one of our offices in Oakland, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, Washington DC, or Seattle, WA. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a leadership team actively engaged in growing the water business at Geosyntec. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for achieving significant market share for Geosyntec in the Water for Mining market area. A key differentiator for Geosyntec is the ability to support mining clients on the entire water cycle, from supply and potential groundwater inflows to reuse, treatment, and discharge. This position will also support business growth associated with complex industrial wastewater projects across the country. Geosyntec is an innovative, international engineering and consulting firm serving private and public-sector clients to address new ventures and complex problems involving our environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. You will be responsible for developing a market strategy for the water for mining market and organizing and leading staff to advance that strategy. You will also be asked to support market development in other sectors and to serve as project director for large and/or high risk projects. Some of the key responsibilities for this client-facing position include: Strategic business planning to segment and target specific clients for projects such as water supply, water treatment, and water re-use; focused on the mining market. Engagement with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec's full service delivery capabilities with the market demands of the mining industry. Participation in the development and implementation of the firm's strategic plan. Implementation of a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients. Serve in the capacity of a Client Account Manager on selected accounts. Active participation in professional societies, conferences, and meetings. Project directorship, ensuring client expectations are understood and met. Recruiting, managing, and mentoring junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists. Reviewing and leading the preparation of major proposals. Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties. Fieldwork including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting tasks. Education and Licensure
Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred). (required) Advanced degree (same as above). (preferred) Professional registration (i.e., P.E.). (required) Skills, Experience and Qualifications
At least 15 years (20+ years preferred) of progressive experience in the consulting industry. (required) Demonstrated experience in industrial and municipal clients with water supply, water treatment, and water re-use projects. (required) Demonstrated working knowledge of Federal and State regulations. (required) Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams. (required) Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills. (required) Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required) Valid U.S driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location. Minimum Salary:
$173,175/year /
Maximum Salary:
$259,765/year (Oakland & Los Angeles, CA) Minimum Salary:
$158,115/year /
Maximum Salary:
$237,175/year (Denver, CO) Minimum Salary:
$165,645/year /
Maximum Salary:
$248,470/year (Washington DC, Seattle, WA) We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees including, 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 8 sick days, and a minimum of 11 vacation days per year.
