The Company

TRM Innovative Hearth Products is the buyout of several companies that have been merged throughout the years including but not limited to Fireplace Manufacturers Inc., (FMI), and Lennox Industries Hearth Division. The aggregate company included rollups of Marco; Superior Fireplace, which began in the 1930s; stove and insert companies including Country Stoves, established in 1977. FMI, a subsidiary of Desa, rolled up Design Dynamics in vented and vent-free logs in the early 2003 timeframe. Subsequently, the management team from the FMI segment of Desa acquired the assets of their division in 2008. On January of 2023 TRM Equity groups completely purchased IHP and created TRM Innovative Hearth Products.

Job Title: RV Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:The RV Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the safe utilization of staffing, equipment, and materials within the assigned area of responsibility. We serve as engineering and manufacturing consultants in addition to providing hands-on support. With a comprehensive range of capabilities in our toolkit from business process reengineering to plant layout analysis, we improve our clients' competitiveness. The RV Manufacturing Engineer behavior that supports IHP values.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops or improves manufacturing processes including flow, methods and equipment.
  • Designs or sources various tools, fixtures, jigs, machinery and equipment.
  • Performs analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Assists with improving process capability and improve quality rates.
  • Identifies potential environmental and safety aspects and designs processes to minimize their impacts.
  • Participates in new product launch and assist and/or establish new part process and parameters.
  • Provides daily manufacturing support, including troubleshooting manufacturing and equipment issues.
  • Evaluates equipment manufacturers to develop cost effective and efficient manufacturing processes and upgrades.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar required.
  • Five or more years Manufacturing Engineering experience or equivalent required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of ERP systems, Bill of Materials structures and Routings (SAP preferred).
  • Experience with AutoCAD software preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret product drawings.
  • Possess knowledge of quality systems, six sigma concepts and/or lean manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • Experience with sheet metal fabrication and product assembly strongly preferred.
  • Experience in time studies and work balance processes preferred.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills preferred.
  • Professional, organized and ethical individual preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment

Must Have:

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to establish priorities.
  • Competency level in use of Microsoft Office. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum)
  • Communication Proficiency in both written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual – Spanish is a plus.

Language Ability:

Position requires fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
