Since 1976, St. Joseph Center has been meeting the needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and surrounding communities. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that assists people without regard for religious affiliation or lack thereof through comprehensive case management and integrated social service programs. The Center enjoys broad-based community support as well as a sponsored relationship with its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. St. Joseph Center serves approximately 6,000 individuals annually. Brief Description of Principal Activities Multifaceted intervention, prevention, and education services are carried out at four sites on the Westside of Los Angeles. St. Joseph Center’s integrated programs provide clients with concentrated and coordinated access to services according to the nature of their needs. Job Description

As the People + Culture Partner, you’ll work at the intersection of employee engagement and operational effectiveness, bringing creativity and rigor to every aspect of the employee lifecycle. From onboarding to offboarding and everything in between, you’ll partner with leaders and employees to ensure people-centric solutions align with the organization's mission. What You’ll Do

Strategic Advisory Partner with managers and leaders to align people strategies with organizational goals, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner. Provide expert consultation and coaching for leadership and employees, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and growth. Develop and implement solutions for organizational challenges, driving positive outcomes through collaboration with leadership teams. Utilize insights and feedback loops, including metrics, to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Employee Relations Serve as the primary contact and coach for managers and employees on policy interpretation, workplace issues, and conflict resolution. Address employee relations matters with fairness, equity, and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements. Facilitate open communication and mediate workplace concerns to foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Talent Management Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, engagement, and offboarding processes. Design and improve processes to enhance the employee experience and maintain operational excellence. Partner with leadership to develop strategies for retention and employee development. Conduct and analyze exit and stay interviews, providing actionable insights to inform retention and engagement strategies. Operational Excellence Ensure consistent application and adherence to HR policies and procedures across the organization, maintaining compliance with labor laws and internal standards. Participate in assessing and refining HR processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging technology and best practices to streamline operations and improve HR service delivery. Maintain accurate employee records and generate insightful HR reports to inform decision-making and track key metrics. Stay updated on employment legislation and ensure organizational compliance, mitigating risks related to HR operations. Manage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure data integrity and optimize system functionalities for user efficiency. Qualifications

Experience You Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience. 4+ years of HR experience, including in employee relations, lifecycle management, and organizational effectiveness. Demonstrated success in managing projects. Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., UKG or similar) and strong analytical skills. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations with the ability to apply them effectively in a variety of contexts. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences. PHR/SPHR certification is a plus but not required. Additional Information

$70,000 At St. Joseph Center, pay ranges are set using the best available market data for the job at the required location. To determine salary for a candidate, we consider the candidate's skills and capabilities for the job compared with expectations for the position.
