Job Description
We are looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Account Manager to lead the Account Management team, ensuring seamless operations and driving growth. In this on-site role based in the Greater Hartford area, you will manage a team of account managers, maintain key client relationships, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Account Management department.
- Staff Development: Mentor and coach team members to enhance performance and support career development.
- KPIs and Performance Metrics: Establish and track departmental goals aligned with business objectives.
- Account Strategies: Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue, retain customers, and enhance satisfaction.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts by addressing client needs and providing customized solutions.
- Proactive Account Reviews: Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling through regular reviews.
- Issue Resolution: Ensure swift resolution of customer concerns, maintaining high satisfaction levels.
- Collaboration: Work with sales, marketing, technical support, supply chain, and regulatory teams to optimize service delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Share client feedback with internal teams to refine products and services.
- New Business Support: Partner with Business Development to onboard new clients and transition accounts effectively.
- Reporting and Insights: Present regular updates on account performance and key metrics to senior leadership.
The Successful Applicant
The Senior Account Manager will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in account management, sales, or customer service, preferably in specialty chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
- Proven ability to manage key accounts and lead revenue growth initiatives.
- A minimum of 3 years managing and mentoring teams to success.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory requirements, and specialty chemical applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving.
