Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated
Technician in Optical Coatings Technology
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in optical coating processes, including E-Beam, Sputtering, Sol-Gel Spin, and metallization coatings, along with a solid understanding of production workflows, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance. This role is integral to our laser optics production environment, where you will support manufacturing operations and drive process improvements to achieve exceptional performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Perform optical coatings production using statistical process control techniques. Prepare, operate, and maintain coating equipment independently and collaboratively within a team. Clean, inspect, and prepare optical surfaces to ensure high-quality outcomes. Evaluate production yields and implement strategies for improvement. Troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams. Design coatings and optimize production processes to meet or exceed specifications. Create and update manufacturing, inspection, and maintenance procedure documentation. Requirements
In-depth knowledge of optical coatings, metallization processes, and metrology techniques. Proven hands-on experience with high-vacuum equipment and tooling design. Proficiency in optical coating production workflows, including cleaning and preparation of precision optics. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and yield enhancement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective in cross-functional team environments. Familiarity with precision cleaning techniques for optics is a plus. Experience and Education:
At least 2 years of experience in optical thin-film coating production, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in optical coating production.
