Our growing firm is seeking a well-qualified senior attorney who can handle a heavy caseload, work independently, and zealously represent our clients both in and out of court. Responsibilities:

  1. Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
  2. Prepare for and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration hearings
  3. Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts
  4. Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws
  5. Prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests/responses
  6. Manage a pipeline of approximately 100-120 personal injury cases to ensure cases progress seamlessly from inception to settlement/trial
  7. Litigate cases for maximum settlement amounts
  8. Conduct depositions
  9. Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as needed
  10. Maintain heavy communication with clients, opposing counsel and adjusters
  11. Negotiate settlements as needed, outside of mediation and trial
  12. Meet monthly established goals and metrics

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree, as well as a 3-year law degree from an accredited law school
  2. Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
  3. Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills are desired, as are exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
  4. Applicants must have trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience
  5. Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations
  6. Must have an active NY bar license in good standing
  7. At least 5+ years of experience working as an associate attorney
  8. Excellent customer service skills
  9. Track record of successful settlements via negotiation, Offers of Settlement, mediation, and jury trials

Compensation:

$200,000+ based on experience + bonus
