Cardinal Engineering is currently seeking an engineer to provide Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering support to the Aircraft Carrier Design and Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05V) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). S uccessful candidates will participate in the Electrical group in SEA 05V and act as the program primary expert for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects to systems installed onboard NIMITZ (CVN 68) and FORD (CVN 78) Class aircraft carriers. Responsibilities include providing technical support and assessing risk for technical decisions for CVN 68 and CVN 78 Class Ship Design Managers (SDMs) and the System Engineering Manager (SEM). 3 years of experience and an Engineering Bachelor’s degree required. Must have experience with Navy, Coast Guard or Merchant Marines. Candidate should have excellent communication skills both written and oral and be able to work well with minimal supervision. Ideal candidate has an Electrical Engineering Degree, experience with shipboard networks and systems. Experience with a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), Type Commander (TYCOM), SEA 05, SEA 08 or ship program office is a plus. Candidates will be based out of the Washington Navy Yard with part-time telework. Occasional travel will be required in execution of assigned duties. Must be a US Citizen and currently possess a SECRET security clearance. Salary commensurate with years and applicability of experience ranging from $95 – $115K.
