Estimator - Structural Steel Fabrication

Structural Steel Estimator (Fabrication) Location: Vancouver, WA Pay: 130k-170k base salary depending on experience Position Overview The Structural Steel Estimator (Fabrication) will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for structural steel fabrication projects. This role is critical in ensuring the bidding process is competitive while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel and fabrication, along with excellent analytical skills to evaluate project specifications and requirements. Key Responsibilities Review project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed estimates for structural steel fabrication. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Analyze labor, material, and overhead costs to create accurate estimates and budgets. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines. Prepare and submit bid proposals, including detailed breakdowns of costs and timelines. Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide informed estimates. Qualifications Proven experience as an estimator in structural steel fabrication or related field. Strong knowledge of structural steel materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards. Proficient in estimation software and tools, along with Microsoft Excel. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
