CAS is currently seeking a Federal Government Business Development Manager. We prefer this position be based out of our Washington D.C. Office; however, other major cities may be considered.

Position Summary:

CAS is expanding our US Federal market sector team with a position that blends business development with account management. This individual will expand and retain business across the US Federal market sector.

This role will generate new business within the US Federal market and actively manage a set of existing US Federal accounts. As Federal Business Development Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to work together on a small team focused on building and developing the US Federal business.

The position will be remote and report to the Director, of Sales, responsible for CAS Custom Services and Business Development.

Position Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate, develop, and align with the US Federal Team to implement business development and account management strategies to grow the overall Federal footprint with CAS products and services for new and existing accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, create and develop solutions to win new business across the US Federal market sector with new and existing customers.
  • Cultivate relationships with decision-makers to manage and expand account relationships within US Federal accounts. This includes cross-selling, upselling, retention, conflict resolution, and customer experience.
  • Maintain and develop extensive relationships with Federal stakeholders and firms to expand new service opportunities and leads in new domain initiatives.
  • Attend business development networking events, including relevant conferences, association events, career fairs, workshops, industry days, and on-site customer meetings.
  • Strategy development and capture efforts for custom services within the US Federal Government
  • Serve as the bridge between the client and CAS leading the development and implementation of service projects.
  • Follow the established sales process and consistently utilize the CRM to document prospect interaction and efficient lead management.
  • Coach and mentor newer senior colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or life science field.
  • 8+ years of experience in US Federal business development and/or account management with Strong relationship building skills alongside proactive lead generation and consultative sales capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge and 5+ years' experience in government contracting practices.
  • Technical knowledge of science, information/intellectual property, and/or IT solutions service delivery in Federal agencies.
  • Successful record of closing Federal deals.
  • Thorough familiarity with Shipley (or similar) business pursuit and capture methodologies and activities. Demonstrated history of and experience in managing and completing business development tasks across the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Department of Defense, Customs and Border Protection and Drug Enforcement Agency preferred with direct client interface experience with the Department of Defense required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers, business professionals, and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Consultative selling skills, active listening, territory management, prospecting, negotiation, product knowledge, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 50%.
