Specialist I/II (Deposit Servicing)

Position Function:

Provide back-office support for branches and departments. Perform services related to the functions of the department under supervision of the senior specialist, assistant manager, or department manager.

Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner aligned with the Company's Core Values of Voyaging Spirit and Positively Ohana; Customer Experience Competencies of Customer Interaction, Empowerment and Ownership; and Basic Skills of Listening, Oral Communication, Written Communication, Action Orientated, Thoroughness, Problem Solving.

Primary Accountabilities:
  • Perform day-to-day back-office operations, including but not limited to deposit product maintenance, monetary processing, return items, compliance related items, lockbox, micrographics, legal processing and ACH processing. Able to research and resolve back-office operational problems with little or no assistance.
  • Assist with monitoring and coordinating all processes related to deposit operations processing. Communicate and follow-up with all department related initiatives as directed by supervisors and/or managers. Assist with resolving internal and external customer problems and complaints with the highest quality of customer service.
  • Responsible for maintaining individual KPI logs. Provides input on procedure updates as required. Researches and resolves deposit operations issues.
  • Knowledge of compliance with the state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and the bank's policies and procedures, and related requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Specialist I - H.S. Diploma required

Specialist II - H.S. Diploma required

Experience:

Specialist I - 1+ years of banking operation experience, including knowledge of bank products, services and documentation.

Specialist II - 2+ years of banking operation experience, including knowledge of bank products, services and documentation.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
