Position Overview

This Logistics Specialist position will be actively involved in projects and analysis to support continuous improvement in transportation management and warehouse services. The ability to liaise with Business representatives will be a key factor to success in this role. Key metrics to monitor and drive improvement include carrier claims, customer complaint rate, freight payment variance trending and reporting.

The Logistics Specialist will be instrumental in managing the daily work-flow in these key areas, while identifying gaps to plan, and implementing opportunities for improvement. The ability to work efficiently and accurately while under pressure to meet deadlines is critical. Provide specialized services and oversight in the areas of SAP shipment reporting and problem resolution, Customer Complaint System investigation, corrective actions and analysis. Key responsibilities will include maintaining work-flow queues, periodic reporting and timely, accurate generation of ad hoc reports as requested by the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Logistics Customer Complaint review and reconciliation process.
  • Investigate root cause of problem with warehouse and/or carrier, develop corrective action plans, and communicate via correspondence with customer.
  • Work closely with the Logistics Teams to ensure on time reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with 3rd party logistics providers for transportation and warehousing to report on monthly costs and services.
  • Support LSS initiatives and projects to improve processes and performance.
  • Enter purchase orders into Ariba system, await approvals, audit and approve invoices for outside third parties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency required
  • General Logistics Operations
  • Payment, PO Management, and administrative systems
  • SAP experience preferred
Education and Experience:
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience in business administration.
