POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the CEO and drive both operational excellence and support strategic decisions as the company scales. While primarily serving as an internal catalyst for business growth, S/he is also responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and for overseeing the companys finance and accounting functions. The Vice President of Finance should have a strong background in financial planning and analysis to develop budgeting and forecasting. This role requires hands-on management to support the organization in a high-growth environment. S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving business and thrive in a collaborative workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide decision-making support as a thought partner to the CEO across various initiatives.
Oversee the accounting, human resources, legal, budgeting, and tax functions.
Oversee the monthly close process including consolidated accounting schedules that ensure an accurate and timely closing of monthly financials.
Prepare a financial results package and present it to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Develop, manage, and evaluate the budgeting and forecasting process including the monthly variance analysis by identifying significant fluctuations.
Develop, manage, and evaluate the financial and tax strategies.
Conduct and oversee M&A analysis and post-merger finance integration.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) that support the companys strategic direction.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the companys bank contacts, outside auditors, and any other professional advisors.
Understand and mitigate key elements of the companys risk profile.
Monitor open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry; ensure that the company complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
Manage cash balances and cash forecasts by developing a strategic plan for financing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or Business Administration required
CPA certification is required
MBA is a plus
Experience in entrepreneurial environments and in the creation of metrics (KPIs) as well as setting, measuring, and enforcing financial and operational standards
5+ years of experience in Accounting / Finance
M&A and integration experience is preferred
Advanced proficiency in Excel and in building and maintaining financial models
Excellent verbal and written communication and experience partnering with an executive team
