Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects across multiple sectors, including utilities, infrastructure, and general contracting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support project teams in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. Key Responsibilities:

Project Support and Coordination: Assist the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects. Coordinate the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain project documentation, including construction schedules, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.

Technical Assistance: Provide technical support during the design, planning, and execution phases of projects. Assist with reviewing and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure project compliance. Ensure proper installation and inspection of construction materials and equipment.

Project Scheduling and Cost Management: Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules, tracking progress, and helping to identify potential delays or risks. Help prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and working with project managers to ensure that projects remain within budget. Monitor project costs, processing invoices, and reviewing payments to subcontractors and suppliers.

Quality Control and Safety: Ensure construction activities comply with safety regulations and best practices. Support site inspections, quality control checks, and compliance with company and industry standards. Assist in ensuring all necessary permits and inspections are completed in accordance with local regulations.

Submittals and Documentation: Prepare, organize, and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring timely responses and resolutions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files, including construction drawings, documentation, and correspondence. Prepare project status reports and assist in presenting updates to internal stakeholders and clients.

Client and Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the project team, clients, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring clear and timely communication. Assist in preparing and reviewing project reports, proposals, and client presentations. Address project-related inquiries from stakeholders, escalating issues as necessary.

Profile

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in construction engineering or a related field, ideally in general contracting, utilities, or infrastructure projects. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project) and general construction practices.

Skills and Competencies: Strong technical understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and construction-related software. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
