A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, specializing in OSHA and employment litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience defending employers in workplace safety-related enforcement actions initiated by Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or other state OSHA programs. This role requires strong litigation skills, including drafting and responding to discovery and pleadings, arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. Duties
- Defend employers in OSHA-related enforcement actions from Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or state OSHA plans.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests and initial pleadings.
- Prepare and argue motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions in employment litigation cases.
- Collaborate with clients to guide workplace safety and compliance.
- Manage case files and timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Provide legal analysis and counsel on employment law issues, particularly regarding OSHA regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on workplace safety and OSHA enforcement.
- Strong background in defending employers in OSHA actions.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Proven experience drafting legal documents, including motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
- Experience taking and defending depositions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- California Bar membership in good standing is required.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Admission to the California Bar (required).
