Job Description Summary:
The Warehouse Specialist, under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor, performs a variety of warehousing duties for the U.S. Army’s Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) Logistics Support Services contract. This role requires understanding the establishment’s storage plan, handling materials, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safe and efficient storage and shipment of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifies materials against receiving documents and notes/reports discrepancies and damages.
- Routes materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Ensures proper storage, stacking, or palletizing of materials in adherence to established storage methods and safety guidelines.
- Conducts regular inventory checks and accurately updates inventory records as necessary.
- Inspect materials for deterioration or damage and report findings.
- Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment.
- Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as required for warehousing functions.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean work areas.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
General Duties:
- Support additional contract-related duties, including environmental, safety, and security tasks.
- May be assigned to other job areas to meet contract requirements as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Obtain a favorable Personnel Reliability Program background screen for a DA Form 7708.
- Obtain HAZMAT Familiarization Training.
- Obtain certifications for hand tools, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Obtain the following certifications as assigned:
- AMMO-31, AMMO-45, AMMO-63, AMMO-64, AMMO-67, AMMO-68, AMMO-75, AMMO-76, AMMO-108, and AMMO-112.
- Fluent in reading and writing English.
- At least 3 years of experience as a warehouse, shipping/receiving clerk, or similar occupation.
- Valid State driver's license and car insurance for access to military installations and travel.
- Eligible for and able to obtain a U.S. Government motor vehicle operator's permit for assigned class of vehicle.
- Willingness to work overtime and support cross-utilization in other job areas when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 5 years of Army ammunition experience and warehousing preferred.
- Working knowledge of the Army ammunition supply system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and other tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and storage plans.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently rearrange and take inventory of stored materials.
- Ability to work independently and accurately follow instructions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and solve problems effectively.
- Effective communication skills for reporting discrepancies and damages.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs), as well as push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat, climb, and reach.
- Work primarily in an outdoor environment with exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather.
