a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced highly qualified professional Junior Network and Computer Systems Administrator to support

KDS , and our Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)/Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)/Infrastructure and Operations Office (IOO) Government customer at Washington, DC.

This is a Remote opportunity.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Network Support Installs, configures, and supports HUD's local area network (LAN) for the Headquarter office and HUD Regional, Field and Satellite offices. Ensures HUD's network, cloud backbone infrastructure, and LAN environments remain in a high availability state to support HUD's operational environment and portfolio of capabilities and IT investments. Ensures all new network and LAN capabilities and investments are transitioned into the IPP IT Portfolios and hybrid operational environment and are integrated and deployed in a standardized process to ensure HUD is in a "ready to support" state for the American Taxpayer at all times. Supports all cloud backbone and LAN efforts within HDUD Continuously monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. Mainframe Support

Provides mainframe support services for the hybrid operational environment (on-premises and cloud). Provides support for the portfolio of Mainframe capabilities and investments, ensuring the Mainframe operational environment remains in a high availability state to support HUD's mission and hybrid operational environment. Installs, configures, administers, hardens, patches, manages, maintains, and refreshes Mainframe environments at the HUD colocation facilities with the HUD multi-cloud operational environments. Assists software and application system owners and developers with identification and troubleshooting of problems and or issues by communicating and coordinating upgrades and changes to the infrastructure. System Administration and Virtualization

Responsible for the integration, deployment, operations and maintenance of all servers (Windows and Linux) and any virtualization platforms (VMware) within the hybrid operational environment (cloud and on-premises). Administers, configures, manages, operates, refreshes, updates, patches and hardens Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Monitors servers and virtualization environments at HUD colocation facilities (in-person and remotely) and cloud service providers facilities (remotely). Maintains the portfolio of server and virtualization capabilities and investments (new and existing) and ensures the virtualization operational environment remains in a high availability state to support HUD's mission and hybrid operational environment. Assists developers via communicating and coordinating upgrades and changes to the infrastructure. Ensures all data stored on servers (physical and virtual machines) and the virtualization platform is encrypted at all layers while in transit, at rest and in use. Conducts monthly reporting to provide current capacity, utilization, and any issues or problems resolved in the previous month for server and virtualization operational environments. Ensures all data residing in the cloud and on-premises colocation data centers environments are retained, destroyed and archived in accordance with HUD and NARA records management policies. Access Management Support:

Manages user access rights across an organization's systems and applications, ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to necessary data. Ensures adherence to security policies and compliance regulations, through the provisioning of accounts, review of access levels, performing access certification, and identifying potential security risks related to user access. Processes New User creation in Active Directory, LDAP, and IBM. Processes application access requests in Active Directory, LDAP and IBM. Updates and deactivates user accounts as necessary based on role changes and termination. Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

0-5 years of experience in systems administration and/or network (LAN/WAN) administration/support. Knowledge and understanding of Windows, Linuz, and macOS environments. Familiarity with server hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyber-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) Knowledge of network and system security protocols, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention, and compliance frameworks. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues effectively. Skills in assessing complex systems and identifying areas for optimization or improvement. Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, support staff and management. Must be capable of installing, configuring and maintaining servers, LAN/WAN and internet systems or a segment of a network systems. Office Location and Travel:

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
