Position Overview:

As a

Systems Engineer, Data Modeler , you will leverage expertise in healthcare information systems and medical data management to design, secure, and optimize data models and ontologies supporting defense health programs. You will work closely with stakeholders and system users to tackle complex data challenges, creating schemas and architectures aligned with FHIR 4+ standards. Your contributions will directly enhance healthcare delivery for military personnel and their families.

Key Responsibilities: Design scalable and agnostic data models supporting defense health missions. Develop and integrate data schemas. Analyze existing data models to drive future-ready solutions. Enable interoperability and data accessibility across platforms. Translate customer needs into actionable plans, user stories, and deliverables. Provide technical guidance for planning and road mapping efforts. Research and incorporate cutting-edge technologies to enhance system performance. Collaborate across teams to improve system interoperability and usability. Produce technical documentation, briefings, and reports to communicate progress. Maintain proper documentation of data models, schemas, and processes to support version control and future scalability. Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including data security, privacy policies, and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA. Work with software engineers, data scientists, and UX designers to implement and optimize end-to-end data pipelines. Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 4 years in systems engineering and data modeling. Domain Knowledge: Experience with healthcare information systems, medical data management, and electronic health records. FHIR Expertise: Proficiency with FHIR v4+ data structures and formats. Technical Tools: Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Communication: Exceptional ability to simplify and articulate complex ideas for various audiences. Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and dynamic environments with resilience and ownership. Valued Experience

Experience with human performance and wearables data to develop data models that integrate real-time monitoring, analytics, and insights into decision-making platforms. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data storage and processing. Expertise in UML, ER diagrams, and schema design for structured and unstructured data. Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka for handling large datasets. Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is

$125,000 - $145,000 . Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Required Education: 4+ years of systems engineering and data modeling experience with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Staff Systems Engineer, Data Modeler

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is

$146,000 - $175,000 . Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Required Education: 8+ years of systems engineering and data modeling experience with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Principal Systems Engineer, Data Modeler

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is

$170,000 - $224,000 . Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Required Education: 12+ years of systems engineering and data modeling with a Bachelor of Science degree OR Associate degree with 2 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree OR a High School Diploma with 4 additional years beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Clearance Requirement:

This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a security clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
