Job Title: Associate Director/Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)
Job Summary:
The Associate Director / Director of HEOR will lead and oversee scientific research projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction. This role involves strategic client consultation, study design, protocol development, and collaboration with the analytics team. They will lead business development efforts through client consultations and proposal preparations.They will also mentor and provide guidance to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Scientific Oversight :
Provide expert scientific oversight of HEOR projects, ensuring the highest standards of scientific rigor and integrity
Stay updated on healthcare regulations and industry guidelines to ensure that the companys work follows regulatory requirements.
Client Consultation :
Facilitate effective strategic consultations with clients and prospective clients
Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide strategic advice, and develop tailored research solutions
Build and maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of client satisfaction
Study Design and Protocol Development :
Lead the design of methodologically robust HEOR/RWE research projects
Develop detailed research protocols, including study objectives, data, methods and analysis plans
Collaboration with Analytics Team :
Work closely with the analytics team to develop comprehensive analysis plans
Ensure accurate data interpretation and the application of appropriate statistical methods
Project Management :
Define key milestones and deliverables for each project
Manage project timelines and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs
Manage project teams and allocate resources effectively
Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise
Deliverables :
Lead the preparation of all client deliverables including interim results tables and study reports
Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy
Lead dissemination activities through publication of results in the peer-review literature, conference abstracts, and posters
Oversee the preparation of study reports, manuscripts, abstracts, and posters for scientific dissemination
Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy
Sales Support :
Lead client capabilities presentations and meetings
Provide expert consultation during client meetings
Lead the development of business development materials and slide decks
Lead the preparation of proposals and budgets
Qualifications:
Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, or a related field
5-10+ years consulting experience in HEOR / RWE, preferably within a consulting environment, with a proven track record in revenue generation, client relationships, complex projects, and dissemination of results.
Expertise in a variety of types of HEOR / RWE studies (e.g., observational non-interventional studies, prospective cohort studies, comparative effectiveness research, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience with human subjects protections, HIPAA, and legal and regulatory guidelines for HEOR / RWE studies
Outstanding healthcare / life sciences industry knowledge
History of publication in the peer-review literature
Proven track record of successful project management and client engagement
Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical software and methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with primary data collection and patient-reported outcomes (PROs)
Knowledge of health technology assessment (HTA) processes and requirements
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and submission processes for HEOR studies
Experience in mentorship and developing training or educational programs
