Position Overview

As a Community Regional Crisis Response Counselor, you will provide immediate, mobile crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals of all ages experiencing acute mental health crises. Working directly in the community, you will deliver assessments, counseling, and case management to help stabilize clients' mental health symptoms and prevent hospitalization.

This field-based role requires travel across Northern Virginia and includes flexible scheduling, along with participation in a weekly on-call rotation to provide 24/7 crisis response coverage.

Location: Arlington, VA

Compensation:
  • QMHP: Starting at $73,500
  • Licensed Eligible: Starting at $77,500
  • Fully Licensed: Starting at $81,000
  • Additional stipend for Spanish-speaking professionals
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,500
Key Responsibilities
Crisis Intervention
  • Deliver mobile crisis response and intensive case management to individuals and families experiencing psychiatric crises.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and evaluate risks related to co-occurring substance use and other factors.
  • Provide short-term counseling, treatment planning, and follow-up support to stabilize clients and address immediate concerns.
Service Coordination
  • Facilitate wraparound team meetings, engaging clients, families, and other support networks to develop a collaborative stabilization plan.
  • Create detailed service plans that address client needs, strategies, and objectives, incorporating input from the support team.
  • Coordinate with external community resources to build a robust and effective support network for clients.
Documentation & Communication
  • Maintain detailed records of all interactions, assessments, and service plans in compliance with documentation standards.
  • Provide regular updates to team members and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
Team Collaboration
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team and provide coverage during a weekly on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability.
  • Travel to various locations across Northern Virginia to meet clients in need and deliver timely support.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's Degree in a human services field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: At least one year of clinical experience with children, adolescents, or adults in crisis settings.
  • Licensure:
    • Registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions as both a QMHP-C and QMHP-A.
    • Licensed or licensed-eligible candidates preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and a good driving record due to travel requirements.
