We are in search of a Controls Engineer to join our innovative Customer Solution Center team in Richmond, VA. As a Controls Engineer, you will collaborate with our Sales, Product, Engineering, and Service teams to design, implement, and maintain diverse customizations for our standard machines. We are in search of a Controls Engineer to join our innovative Customer Solution Center team in Richmond, VA. As a Controls Engineer, you will collaborate with our Sales, Product, Engineering, and Service teams to design, implement, and maintain diverse customizations for our standard machines. These customizations are not just products but solutions that cater to the needs of our customers in the industry and retail markets. This role offers a unique opportunity to create customer-centric solutions that complement our standard product offerings.
Your tasks
- Use of CAD Software to design and create electrical schematics and back panel layouts
- Selection of sensors, drives, communication devices, and other devices for use in automation equipment
- Machine integration, including PLC and HMI programming
- Collaboration with other hardware and software engineers on multiple projects
- Time and project management through personal skills and software
- Assist in the creation of post-project documentation
- Work with the Service Department to troubleshoot field projects
- Collaborate with other employees to create the best solution
- Collaborate with the Production team to make sure the solution is tested and completed correctly
- Troubleshoot and assist in troubleshooting control issues
- Company travel required when applicable
- Position is Richmond, VA-based and non-remote

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering
- Experience with 2D CAD software and Windows Office
- Comfortable working with hand tools and small power tools
- Strong time management skills, urgency, and aptitude for effectively prioritizing tasks within multiple projects
- Ability to communicate effectively, present, and influence credibly at all levels
- Problem-Solving - Able to investigate the root cause and suggest workable solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
