$110,000 - $112,000 per year + Bonus

Job Summary:

The Paralegal will support the General Counsel in a dynamic and multifaceted legal environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the legal department across diverse business lines, including Florida companies, Puerto Rico entities, investment companies, and international insurance lines. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills and keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities: Corporate Governance & Compliance:

Assist the General Counsel in preparing for and attending board and committee meetings, including document maintenance for relevant subsidiaries. Support the review and revision of international life and health insurance policies. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Contract Administration:

Review and update agent contracts by company standards. Manage contracts with external service providers, ensuring proper execution and record-keeping.

Regulatory Filings:

Prepare and file necessary documents with regulators and government agencies. Collaborate with Corporate Counsel - Reinsurance on reinsurance license renewals.

Legal Coordination & Support:

Assist with employment law matters, coordinating with the Human Resources department. Coordinate meetings between the General Counsel and other departments on legal matters. Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records and files.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or, legal studies, or a related field is preferred. [Number] years of experience as a Paralegal in a corporate or law firm environment. Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures. Proficiency in legal research and drafting. Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with legal databases and research tools preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
