Job Title: Respiratory Therapist II - Nights Job Specialty: Therapeutic Treatment Job Duration: 13 months Shift: Night (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: 0-2 years clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care required License: Registered Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Care Professional Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Must-Have: - Ability to communicate effectively - Critical thinking skills - Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with healthcare professionals - Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with databases - Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills Job Description: - Provide quality patient care through medication administration and respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience. - Deliver patient care in complex and multiple problem-patient care situations, particularly in critical care areas requiring protocol ventilator management and independent decision-making. - Educate patients and support systems; coordinate activities, staff development, and professional growth. - Address the biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients and families. - Educate new employees and others, promoting a team spirit and positive work environment. - Perform patient assessments, collaborate with healthcare team members in planning patient care, and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen, and medical gas therapy. - Perform ventilator management, including weaning, waveform graphic interpretation, airway management, and arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. - Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiac service procedures, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. - Ensure a safe and quality environment, promoting current and accurate electronic orders, charting, and charging. - Advocate for patient safety, performance improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice. Note: The contract begins after a specified date.
