We have an exciting opportunity for a position of Senior Hardware Test Engineer located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position is part of the Whole Life Engineering project team focused on the development, integration, validation, and maintenance of test hardware/software for advanced military communications and displays. The selected candidate will develop software applications, libraries, and instrument drivers; as well as developing hardware solutions that include both high-end Commercial - Off-The-Shelf (COTS) test equipment and in-house test fixtures.

This position is 100% on site in Cedar Rapids, IA.

What YOU Will Do:

  1. Develop and maintain ATE (Automated Test Equipment) test software for a factory/production environment which exercises and analyzes hardware deliverable products.
  2. Develop and maintain ATE test fixtures through circuit design, cable design, connector strategies, and top-level fixture design. Work closely with a PCB and mechanical designers, reviewing designs and participating in design reviews.
  3. Support cradle to grave efforts including requirements, design, integration, validation, verification, and maintenance of test hardware and software.
  4. Design high quality solutions that meet cost and schedule targets.
  5. High focus on DFM/DFS standards (Design for Manufacturability / Design for Serviceability).
  6. Troubleshoot software and hardware as part of an integration team.
  7. Communicate effectively with global engineering, operations, service and program leadership.
  8. Experience with software applications using C, C++, C#, NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or other test software programming languages.
  9. Ability to interface ATE test software with laboratory and production tests instrumentation such as but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, signal generators, signal analyzers, and/or direct current power supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  2. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  3. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
  4. Experience with developing and maintaining ATE test hardware and software for a factory/production environment.
