POSITION SUMMARY
This is a FULL TIME POSITION. The Production Manager at Old Major will oversee all operational aspects of production, ensuring compliance with GMP and SSOP standards and maintaining an organized production floor. Key responsibilities include training new hires and existing team members on machinery operation, developing and maintaining production schedules in collaboration with the Operations Manager and CEO, and ensuring stock levels are appropriate. The role involves managing HACCP compliance, leading food safety audits, and handling regulatory interactions. Additionally, the Production Manager will oversee the purchasing of raw materials and packaging, set standards for conduct and professionalism, manage employee schedules, and conduct performance reviews and growth plans.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Develop and periodically review GMP and SSOP to ensure they remain current and relevant.
- Maintain the production floor to SSOP standards, ensuring cleanliness and organization of dry goods, equipment, and refrigerated storage.
- Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule for all tools, equipment, and machinery, ensuring adherence.
- Oversee training for new hires and tenured team members, ensuring safe and proper operation of machinery. Collaborate with the CEO to create training documentation if it does not exist.
- Work with the Operations Manager and CEO to develop production schedules, ensuring appropriate product stock levels.
- Maintain operational process documentation for all production-related activities. Create documentation with the CEO if needed.
Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CEO to ensure HACCP plans are current and requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and maintain accurate HACCP documentation.
- Lead and facilitate food safety audits with regulatory agencies.
- Develop HACCP plans for new processing categories in collaboration with the CEO.
Purchasing Responsibilities:
- Manage the purchasing of raw materials and paper goods, securing the best pricing while adhering to quality standards.
- Schedule and conduct regular price checks for less volatile products such as dry ingredients, fresh ingredients, and paper goods.
- Work with the CEO to maintain proper stock levels of packaging materials.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Set the tone for conduct, teamwork, and professionalism within the team.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage employee schedules to meet production needs, including handling time-off requests.
- Conduct employee reviews, develop growth plans, and manage corrective actions and performance improvement plans when necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A college degree in operations, logistics, warehouse management, or business is requiredl. OR equivalent workplace experience.
