A law firm seeks an entry-level patent attorney to join its growing intellectual property practice. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of intellectual property law, including patent and trademark prosecution, opinion writing, and litigation. Duties
- Assist with preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications.
- Collaborate with clients and technical experts to understand and protect innovations.
- Conduct research and draft legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and other intellectual property matters.
- Support litigation teams in intellectual property disputes.
- Develop a deep understanding of patent law through direct mentorship and practical experience.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with strong academic performance in law school.
- Background in engineering, computer science, or advanced sciences.
- Prior professional experience in engineering, computer science, or a related field is a plus.
- Commitment to pursuing registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Education
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or an advanced science field.
Certifications
- Eligibility to sit for the USPTO patent bar exam.
- Willingness to become registered as a patent practitioner with the USPTO.
