We’re seeking a detail-oriented
Laboratory Technician
to help us deliver exceptional care to pets and their families. If you’re passionate about veterinary medicine and thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment, we’d love to have you on board!
About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the hospital’s in-house lab and ensuring seamless operations. You’ll work closely with our hospital staff, handling specimens, running diagnostic tests, and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle, process, and run diagnostic tests on samples with precision and care.
Follow all laboratory quality control, safety, and procedural guidelines, including OSHA standards.
Operate and troubleshoot lab equipment such as IDEXX Catalyst (chemistry machine), IDEXX ProCyte (CBC machine), centrifuges, and SNAP testing devices.
Maintain and clean laboratory equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Communicate test results effectively with hospital staff to support patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the lab and hospital team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field (biology, animal science, etc.) is often preferred.
Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in veterinary medicine or healthcare, is a plus.
Familiarity with laboratory protocols, equipment, and procedures.
Basic understanding of lab safety, including OSHA guidelines.
