The School of Nursing and Health Professions invites nominations and applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor for simulation education for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at the Hilltop Campus located in the heart of San Francisco.
Full Job Description:
The Simulation Nurse Faculty will collaborate with Nursing faculty, the Simulation Center and Skills Lab team, and nursing administration to support learner competency attainment, skills acquisition, deliberative practice, and simulation-based education activities.
The Simulation Nurse Faculty will demonstrate the application of simulation-based education best practices and provide direct education to prelicensure nursing students. They will contribute to the development and refinement of simulation-based activities, prepare, maintain, and use forms, records, and reports using a variety of evidence-supported resources. The faculty will evaluate and provide feedback to learners during simulation experiences per institutional policies, support faculty and staff during planning, trialing, validation, and running of laboratory and/or simulation-based education activities, and support development and refinement of Simulation Center and Skills Lab processes, policies, and procedures.
Additionally, the faculty will provide technical instruction assistance to learners practicing clinical skills, ensure remediation of students in need of improvement, and communicate with program faculty regarding the learner's performance according to institutional policies. They will support the orientation and mentorship of new faculty and staff, engage in recruitment and promotion events as needed, and participate in other simulation-related activities.

Up to 25% Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree in nursing; doctoral degree preferred. One year of full-time direct patient care experience within the last 5 years is required. Experience in medical-surgical nursing/ICU, pediatrics, and maternal-child health is preferred. A minimum of one year of simulation or clinical teaching experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate simulation experiences/scenarios. Upon hire, the faculty member must be licensed as a registered nurse. A strong commitment to teaching and scholarship, experience and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment, and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the institution.
