Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our construction team in Houston, TX. The Project Engineer will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects. This role provides critical support to project managers and site teams, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination: Support the project manager and superintendent in planning and executing all phases of construction. Collaborate with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met. Assist in tracking project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Document Control: Review and maintain project documents, including drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals. Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation. Prepare and distribute reports, meeting minutes, and project updates as needed. Technical Support: Assist in reviewing plans and specifications to identify potential conflicts or challenges. Support the preparation and submission of RFIs and ensure timely responses. Work with the design and construction teams to resolve technical issues. Procurement and Cost Management: Help manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Maintain logs and track deliveries to ensure project resources are on schedule. Assist in tracking project costs and reviewing invoices for accuracy. Quality Assurance and Safety: Support the enforcement of quality control and safety procedures on the job site. Conduct site walks to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards. Identify and report quality or safety issues to project leadership. Client and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with clients and stakeholders as directed by the project manager. Provide updates on project progress and assist in addressing client concerns. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 2 years of experience in construction or project engineering preferred; internships or entry-level experience considered. Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and project management processes. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
