Role: The VP Human Resources is responsible for planning, designing, and executing legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. The VP HR will provide executive-level leadership and guidance to the Credit Union's Human Resources Team and function as a key member of the leadership team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Experience: Eight or more years of progressive experience in human resources management, with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, employee relations and human resources strategic planning is required. Must possess experience in managing others, leading initiatives and creation and management of budgets.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. PHR/SPHR certification is required.

- Responsible for overseeing the effective performance of Human Resources, including, but not limited to, all recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits management, onboarding, and performance management. Annually determines the benefits offerings for the Credit Union, making sure the benefits remain within budget and are competitive within the market.
- Leads the development and execution of innovative Human Resources strategic initiatives aligned with the Credit Union's business objectives, fostering a culture of engagement. Collaborates with Senior Leadership to align HR policies, programs and practices with the overall business strategy.
- Identifies key performance indicators for the Credit Union's Human Resource and Talent Management functions; assesses the Credit Union's success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
- Provides guidance and leadership to the HR team and builds organizational capability and effectiveness. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns and issues.
- Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements. Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources and talent management.
- Accurately diagnoses organizational issues, develops solutions and ensures implementation. Provides advice and counsel to organizational leaders on HR issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
