Engineering Technician, Battery Cell Tabless

Tesla is seeking highly motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment to take on a wide range of manufacturing and development challenges. You will apply technical skills to setup, operate and adjust high volume production equipment. The Engineering Technician is a key member of the Tabless Operations team in helping the Process Engineers focused on developing innovative processes, equipment, and tooling to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate equipment to support new product and process development trials and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective trial execution
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues that arise during production, engineering and new product introduction (NPI) builds as well as using root cause analysis to identify and address underlying problems
- Perform equipment setup, operation adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality and efficiency standards for equipment in varying development stages
- Drive continuous improvement (CI) projects focused on improving yield, quality and equipment availability to optimize production processes
- Proactively monitor and analyze process yield and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to identify trends, correlations and areas for improvement as well as make targeted process adjustments to optimize yield
- Develop and implement training materials such as Process Alert Notices (PAN) to educate operators on new processes and procedures and participate in ongoing efforts to improve safety, quality, throughput and tool availability
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience in a production setting
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics as well as engineering drawings
- Knowledge of lithium-ion battery manufacturing is a plus
- Knowledge in data and statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP is a plus
- Knowledge in SQL, Python or Jupyter Notebook is a plus
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

$35.15 - $51.73/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
