FUNCTIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to relate to first through eighth grade age students
Experience working with children preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Knowledgeable in the rules and philosophy of the Douglas School District and able to communicate them to students and parents.
2. Implements the rules and philosophy of the Douglas School District with students on a day-to-day basis.
3. Maintains order and control in the school lunchroom.
4. Monitors and manages students in the food line during the serving of lunch
5. Monitors and manages the playground to insure appropriated student playground conduct.
6. Helps students to solve minor playground problems (guidance) and refers serious discipline problems to the proper authority.
7. Identifies and reports chronic behavioral problems to the building principal.
8. Completes all forms required by the school (e.g. accident reports).
9. Sells milk to students who do not purchase a school lunch.
10. Cleans tables between lunch periods.
11. Sweeps and mops floors, cleans the tables, and assists in replacing tables after the last lunch group.
12. Dismisses students back to the classroom in a manner conducive to a smooth transition.
13. Participates in appropriate and relevant staff activities (e.g. orientation, evaluation, problem solving, etc).
14. Acts in a professional and ethical manner and treats confidential school business appropriately.
15. Provides for his/her own professional growth.
16. Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
