Position: Senior Grants & Contracts Director
Salary: $98,783 - $107,564 (Annualized)
Job Summary:
The Senior Grants & Contracts Director (SGCD) plays a vital role in securing and managing funding to support the mission of Second Harvest Food Bank. S/he leads the full grant and contracts cycle including research, proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance. The SGCD is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies that secure over $4.0 M in funding through competitive funding proposals to support Second Harvest’s programs.
Responsibilities:
Contracts & Grants Research, Development and Submittal (40%)
Identify, apply for, and manage the process of securing foundation and corporate grants.
Develop and implement strategies to secure contracts through competitive proposals.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and board members to understand program/project needs.
Write and submit concise proposals for grant applications.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand funding needs.
Lead budget development with staff.
Compliance and Reporting (25%)
Prepare and submit progress and impact reports to funders.
Ensure staff are aware of deadlines and deliverables.
Update staff on application statuses and program fund distributions.
Train program staff on contract requirements and reporting.
Strategic Planning (20%)
Develop and implement strategy for contract and grant funding sources.
Monitor and implement plans to meet annual funding targets.
External Relationship Management (15%)
Develop relationships with prospective funders and maintain strong relationships.
Communicate grant/contract status and program progress to grantors.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
At least seven years’ experience in grant writing and grants/contracts compliance. Skills: Leadership Skills: Ability to direct colleagues in meeting deadlines. Excellent Writing: Ability to translate complex programs into compelling narratives. Detail Oriented: Highly organized with extensive record-keeping experience. Additional Requirements: Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and ending hunger. Ability to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. Standard Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 – 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected. To Apply:
