The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for technical engineering, implementation and support of a broad base of technologies to support our global technology needs. This includes engineering and implementation as well as troubleshooting. The Engineer will be responsible for ensuring delivery of projects leveraging new, current, and innovative technologies to meet business needs. In addition, the Engineer will be responsible for assisting in capacity planning, disaster recovery, datacenter management, backups, documentation, server based application support, and tier 3 troubleshooting. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on more than one high-priority deliverable.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that enterprise computing resources are available to the end users at all times. Maintain and manage existing server, network, and application environments. Implement new equipment. Plan and expand the enterprise systems infrastructure. Coordinate systems capabilities with user and business needs while anticipating future requirements of both the internal systems and end users. Act as technical resource and mentor for junior staff on Infrastructure Service teams. Support IT service delivery to the business units 24x7, including on call and maintenance weekend rotations. Assist in delivering successful change management and maintenance scheduling. Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of experience is required, VMWare VCP and/or MSCE certifications are a plus A minimum of 5 years of working experience with Linux Servers (Ubuntu preferred), VMware, Windows Servers, SAN, Server hardware (Cisco experience preferred) 3 years working experience with Cloud services (AWS and/or Azure, Office 365); 3 years Linux administration experience, certification in Redhat or Ubuntu is a plus Familiarity working in a Windows and Linux integrated environment (Kerberos, Centrify, and Active Directory) Working experience with configuration & automation management tools (Puppet, Chef, GoCD, Jenkins) Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, or PHP-CLI Proven Linux abilities to provide strong baseline of expertise. (Apache, Bind, ipfwadm/iptables, chroot, packages/dependencies/compiling, user management, clustering/HA) Secondary technologies: Cisco Networking (Nexus experience preferred), CheckPoint Firewalls, Enterprise Backup technology (Commvault experience a plus), RSA Technologies, Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2014), Automation tools Strong IT operations and engineering background, preferably in a financial services organization. Strong technical background, strong written and oral communication skills, project management skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation #LI-JW1
