We are seeking a

Vice President, Quality

to lead system-wide quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives for a regional health system serving Northern Kentucky, Southeastern Indiana, and Greater Cincinnati. With over 10,000 associates and nearly 1,600 physicians and advanced practice providers, this health system is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role will drive continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practices while fostering a culture of safety and excellence. In collaboration with the Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Quality Officer, and Chief Medical Officer, they will engage clinical teams, medical staff, and nursing leadership in initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational performance. oversees performance evaluation, manages regulatory accreditations, and drives system-wide process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies. Additionally, the

Responsibilities: Quality, Patient Safety & Regulatory Leadership Develop and implement system-wide quality and patient safety strategies, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Oversee patient safety initiatives, risk mitigation strategies, and accreditation compliance, ensuring adherence to CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements. Lead root cause analyses, sentinel event investigations, and external peer reviews to drive continuous improvement. Oversee infection control efforts and establish best practices to prevent adverse events and enhance service excellence. Establish and maintain quality reporting and analytics, leveraging EHRs, benchmarking, and business intelligence tools to identify trends and improve patient outcomes. Performance Improvement & Data-Driven Decision-Making Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and PDSA methodologies to optimize operational efficiency and quality improvement efforts. Monitor key performance indicators and regulatory benchmarks, providing insights to enhance clinical performance and patient outcomes. Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, and operational leaders to prioritize high-impact projects and drive enterprise-wide improvements. Direct the measurement and evaluation of clinical program initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring measurable success. Executive & Clinical Team Collaboration Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership and clinical teams, ensuring alignment on quality priorities and strategic initiatives. Partner with the Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Quality Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and COO to engage medical staff, nursing leadership, and operational teams in continuous improvement efforts. Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, ensuring that clinical staff remain actively engaged in quality and safety initiatives. People Leadership & Organizational Development Lead regional and local quality teams, overseeing recruitment, training, and development to build a high-performing workforce. Engage in medical staff performance improvement activities, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities. Support system-wide employee recognition, engagement, and retention efforts, reinforcing a culture of safety and service excellence. Education & Certifications: Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA, or related field). Bachelor’s degree in quality improvement, engineering, healthcare administration, or a similar field preferred. Certification in Lean Black Belt, or other process improvement methodologies preferred. Experience: 10+ years of experience leading and managing multiple complex quality and patient safety projects in a healthcare organization. 5+ years in a system-level leadership role within a large health system. Engineering background, preferred. Demonstrated success in implementing enterprise-wide quality initiatives that result in measurable patient outcome improvements. Extensive experience in analytics, benchmarking, and data modeling for quality reporting and performance improvement. Proven ability to drive organizational changes, enhance collaboration, and engage stakeholders at all levels. Deep understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, CMS, Joint Commission, and accreditation processes. Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA, etc.) and their application in healthcare. Ability to communicate and present data-driven insights to executives, clinicians, and operational teams. Strong leadership, project management, and change management capabilities. Black belt certification.
