Project Development Manager
Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is seeking a Project Development Manager to drive their early-stage utility-scale solar and storage projects across the Midwest markets .
This role requires a highly motivated self-starter with strong expertise in siting, land acquisition, and early-stage project development .
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate suitable sites for utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with interconnection, permitting, and environmental constraints.
- Lead and manage land campaigns , including landowner negotiations, securing site control, and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with interconnection, permitting, and regulatory teams to advance projects through key development milestones.
- Travel up to 70% to engage with landowners, conduct site visits, and build relationships with local communities.
- Support the execution of project development strategies to build a robust pipeline across the Midwest.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development , with a focus on early-stage development.
- Strong siting experience and a track record of securing land for renewable energy projects.
- Ability to lead land acquisition efforts and manage relationships with landowners and stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region (up to 70% ).
- Experience navigating interconnection and permitting processes in MISO and/or PJM is a plus.
