Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is seeking a
Project Development Manager
to drive their early-stage
utility-scale solar and storage projects
across the
Midwest
markets . This role requires a
highly motivated self-starter
with strong expertise in
siting, land acquisition, and early-stage project development . Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate suitable sites for utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with interconnection, permitting, and environmental constraints. Lead and manage
land campaigns , including landowner negotiations, securing site control, and coordinating with internal/external stakeholders. Work cross-functionally with interconnection, permitting, and regulatory teams to advance projects through key development milestones. Travel up to
70%
to engage with landowners, conduct site visits, and build relationships with local communities. Support the execution of project development strategies to build a robust pipeline across the Midwest. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development , with a focus on early-stage development. Strong
siting experience
and a track record of securing land for renewable energy projects. Ability to lead land acquisition efforts and manage relationships with landowners and stakeholders. Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region ( up to 70% ). Experience navigating interconnection and permitting processes in MISO and/or PJM is a plus. This is a
